From the town of Jefferson to the pass the road is wide, easy and scenic. In good conditions, most passenger cars can easily drive to the pass. The other roads leading from the pass are true 4wd w/low range routes.
Photo Ops:
The views looking out at South Park are fantastic. Watch for wildflowers and wildlife in the meadows along the lower portion of the route.
